Daily Itinerary & Activities
Day 1 – Sunday, March 22 – Philadelphia to Venice
Evening departure. Connecting flight to Venice. Meals and refreshments served on board.
Day 2 – Monday, March 23 – Venice
Morning arrival at Venice Airport. Look for the ROMA TRAVEL sign after clearing Customs/Immigration and collecting luggage. Follow the exit and you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel by water taxi.
Afternoon at leisure. Meet group members for a brief presentation of daily activities.
Evening: Welcome dinner at a local restaurant.
Overnight: Hotel Cavalletto & Doge Orseolo or similar (2 nights)

Day 3 – Tuesday, March 24 – Venice
Morning walking tour includes:
- Basilica of St. Mark
- St. Mark’s Square
- Bridge of Sighs
Optional: Gondola ride through Venetian canals in the afternoon.
Meals: Breakfast
Day 4 – Wednesday, March 25 – Venice > Bologna > Florence
Depart Venice and travel through the Veneto region.
Stop in Bologna for sightseeing and lunch. Known for Parmigiano Reggiano, prosciutto di Parma, risotto, Barilla pasta & balsamic vinegar.
Afternoon arrival and check-in in Florence.
Evening: Dinner.
Overnight: Grand Hotel Adriatico or similar (3 nights)
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 5 – Thursday, March 26 – Florence
Morning tour includes:
- Accademia Gallery (Michelangelo’s David)
- Giotto’s Bell Tower
- Baptistry (Gates of Paradise)
- Signoria Square
- Santa Croce Square
Afternoon at leisure.
Meals: Breakfast
Day 6 – Friday, March 27 – Siena & San Gimignano
Morning visit to Siena: San Domenico Church and Piazza del Campo.
Wine tasting & lunch at a local winery.
Afternoon visit to San Gimignano, with free time for shopping.
Evening: Dinner on your own.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Day 7 – Saturday, March 28 – Florence > Orvieto > Rome
Travel through the Umbrian countryside.
Stop in Orvieto to visit the 14th-century cathedral commemorating the Eucharistic Miracle of Bolsena.
Check-in at Rome hotel. Short walk to Spanish Steps & Trevi Fountain.
Evening at leisure.
Overnight: Hotel Romanico Palace or similar (3 nights)
Meals: Breakfast
Day 8 – Sunday, March 29 – Rome
Palm Sunday Mass in the morning.
Tour includes:
- Roman Forum
- Colosseum
- Arch of Constantine
- Circus Maximus
- Great Synagogue
- Isola Tiberina
- Castel Sant’Angelo
Evening at leisure.
Meals: Breakfast
Day 9 – Monday, March 30 – Vatican Museums
Guided tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, including:
- Frescoes by Michelangelo, Perugino, Botticelli
- St. Peter’s Basilica
Afternoon at leisure.
Evening: Farewell dinner with wine at a Roman restaurant.

Day 10 – Tuesday, March 31 – Departure
Morning transfer to Rome Fiumicino Airport for your flight home.
Meals: Breakfast
